This is an introduction for training ears musically, and for learning how to read music. We will be learning solfege (singing notes using hand motions), learning notes and rhythms. | Model making summer class If you are looking for an educational and yet very fun activity for your child during the summer please take a look at this wonderful opportunity! Class Size limited to 12 WHEN: August 6,7,8 13,14,15 20,21,22 27,28,29 TIME: 9:30am to 12:00 pm COST: $110.00 MATERIAL FEE: $25.00 Large Class Room EIE Student must supply his own tools, table cover, paint and model. Basic model making will require matte board construction. Scale blue prints will be given to student for their project. Student ability will range from beginning to advanced. Bring your own plastic, wood or card board model, if you have a project orientated model, bring it as well. 1. There will be spray booths set up for student use and instruction in the spraying your model as well. 2. Diorama building for your model will be offered. 3. Painting and weathering will be offered. 4. Tips and Tricks for model makers will be offered 5. 2 ½ hours of pure model making will be offered 6. Q&A session at the end of each day. 7. HEBREW INTENSIVE SUMMER PROGRAM TAUGHT BY: Lilli Witczak COST: $200.00. Minimum of 3 students. CLASS SCHEDULE: 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on the following dates (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) August 6, 7, 8, August 13, 14, 15 August 20, 21, 22 The course is recommended for students who are self-driven and are able to take notes. Those interested in getting just a taste of Hebrew will love this class. They will learn the Hebrew alphabet, the sound that each letter makes, vocabulary, supporting grammar, and (depending on the level of the students) how to write each letter. Students will also learn some simple conversational phrases and how to use a Hebrew dictionary. Recommended text: A Hebrew-English, English-Hebrew dictionary. Advanced Communications A summer Homeschooling class in English Oratory, Writing and stage presentation This is an intensive summer class for students of any age who can handle college preparatory material and is designed to prepare students for university study and for SAT, ACT and TOEFL exams as well as holistic face-to-face examinations such as the English communications credit by examination programmes of Trinity College London. Writing and speaking skills and techniques for the felicitous presentation of cogent and compelling prose will be covered together with advanced vocabulary, language usage, comprehension, grammar and style that will serve students well in college and college credit examinations. Class members will study and emulate the work of the masters of words and will prepare and deliver scripted and improvisatory oratory in lecture, debate, interview and dramatic settings with a view to wielding language effectively.
