Walk Through the Ancient World

DATE:               Monday, April 9, 2012
TIME:                9:30 AM to approx. 12:15 p.m.

GRADES:        3 through 12

This presentation is designed to allow your students to actively
participate in an exciting retelling of the ancient history of Egypt,
Greece and Rome.  Through the use of games, drama, and
storytelling, history will come alive!  Students explore the famous
events, historical figures, and relevant vocabulary of this exciting
period in history. Through dramatic activities, students “become”
famous men and women of both history and mythology. The students
will meet in small groups (at Park Day or another agreed upon spot)
to plan their presentations, costumes, etc.  Lots of study material is
provided.  On the presentation day, students compete by teams to
see who knows the most about the ancient world.  This is done in a
game show format and is LOTS of fun!           Sign up

LOS ANGELES ZOO

TIME:                 9:30 AM  arrival time    (Tour scheduled 10:00)  
COST:               $3.00 per student –and- $5.00 per adult
PLACE:             5333 Zoo Drive, Griffith Park
                    The zoo is across the parking lot from
                    the Gene Autry Museum.

NOTE!  Please pay for this event in advance.  It is extremely difficult
to collect $ at the zoo and still get everyone in on time.     This field
trip is organized by Christ the King homeschool group.  When you
arrive at the zoo, look for the Christ the King group among the school
field trip lines and check in with them.

We have a self guided tour, so you will be free to visit any parts of the
zoo you wish at your own pace.  Remember to bring food and drinks
or be prepared to buy lunch there.

Cinderella Ballet

              405 N. College Way, Claremont 91711
PARKING:     Park in the new parking structure to the south of
Bridges Auditorium.
DIRECTIONS:        Take the 10 Freeway to the Indian Hill Exit.  Go
N. on Indian Hill to Bonita Ave. and  turn R.  Go to College Way and
turn L. to Bridges Auditorium.

Come experience the Ballet in this elegant theater, where Inland
Pacific Ballet is Company in Residence.  One of the Inland Empire’s
treasures, this grand structure has an immediate, awe-inspiring
impact on young people, and with a seating capacity on 2,400, is
suitable for the large student audiences that attend.  At Bridges’
opening in 1931, it was widely regarded as the finest theater in
Southern California and quickly became one of the region’s cultural
assets.  Its great white columns, vaulting arches, grand marble foyer
and hand painted coffered ceilings provide the perfect setting for an
enchanting outing at the ballet.

DIRECTIONS:        Take 605 Frwy to Arrow Highway/Live Oak Exit
and go east to the entrance (approx. 1 mile)

 Spend the day in Queen Elizabeth’s England!  You will have your
own tickets, so you can come and go as you please.  We will have
preparation workshops on Monday, March 12 (language/customs) &
April 16(costumes) from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon to help you with
your King James English and your proper attire.  We also have lots of
study info included with your ticket price.  Please sign up for
