Los Angeles COUNTY FAIR

DATE:          Wednesday, September 7, 2011

TIME:            9:00 AM  (Gate to parking opens at 8:45 AM)
PLACE:       Los Angeles County Fairgrounds,
              Pomona, CA
              ...from the 10 fwy., exit White Ave., turn left,…OR
              ...from the 210 fwy., exit Fruit St., turn right,       
              (becomes White Ave.)…
              to Parking lot at Gate 9 (also called the Blue Gate )
             (approx. $8.00 fee -OR- display school parking   
             pass on dash), park and find the EIE group among
             the schools in line at fence (group ticket entry).

COST:            $3.00 per family

Many educational programs and activities.  Also, check out the fair’s
website: www.lacountyfair.com/fair kids.  Remember sun protection (hat,
sunscreen, water).  Bring your own food to eat at the picnic area (grass,
trees, hillside) -OR- bring money to eat.  Ask Carolyn for a Parking Pass

Our first screening will be Melie's "A Trip to the Moon" as well as "A Trip
Down Market Street" which was filmed in San Francisco the day before the
1906 earthquake.

experience.  They will be dazzled by the powerful music, the wonderful
artists, orchestra, sets, costumes and the beautiful theater itself.  The
most beloved of all Russian operas comes to the LA Opera stage with a
marvelous cast of exciting young performers.  Before the performance we
will be ushered back stage to learn about the types of careers involved in
staging an opera.

DIRECTIONS:
  Take the Via Verde exit off the 10 Freeway
                   ( just west of the 57 interchange) and
                   turn south on Via Verde into Forest Lawn.  
                   Ask at the kiosk for parking directions.
     This is one of Forest Lawn’s fabulous interactive educational
programs.  Some of America’s greatest presidents (Madison, Jefferson &
Lincoln) engage each other and the audience in a discussion on their
personal and presidential lives as they relate to certain themes in
American History.  The theme this year will be the United States
Constitution.
